IHRS Fellowship

The IHRS Fellowship aims to:

• Recognize doctors who have demonstrated exemplary dedication, innovation, and contribution to the field of cardiac electrophysiology and heart rhythm disorders.
• Encourage excellence and innovation in the field of heart rhythm disorders among early-career cardiac electrophysiologists.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and collaboration within the cardiac electrophysiology community in India.
• Promote the values of leadership, integrity, and dedication that define the mission of IHRS.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing within the cardiac electrophysiology community in India.
• Enhance the prestige and recognition of the IHRS.

Following criteria will apply (any one). Membership of IHRS is mandatory.

1. All past Presidents of IHRS.
2. All past Secretaries of IHRS.
3. Those who have served for more than 2 terms in the Executive Committee of IHRS.
4. Completed EP fellowship for a period of at least 6 months.
5. Professor of Cardiology for 5 years in an institute where EP training is ongoing for at least 5 years.
6. Members of IHRS >10 years, not fulfilling above criteria, with >10 publications in indexed cardiology journals.
7. Any exceptional case with recommendation of the Executive Committee of the IHRS only after fulfilling the eligibility criteria and fee.

Candidates for the IHRS Fellowship Award must meet the following criteria:

• Completion of training in Cardiology / cardiac electrophysiology from a recognized institution in India or abroad.
• Academic excellence — research publications, presentations, and contributions to scientific literature in cardiac electrophysiology and heart rhythm disorders.
• Clinical competence — proficiency in diagnosis, treatment, and management of heart rhythm disorders.
• Innovation and leadership — innovative approaches and commitment to advancing the field through research, education, or clinical practice.
• Professionalism and ethics — highest standards in interactions with patients, colleagues, and the broader healthcare community.

• How to apply: Application must be addressed to the Fellowship Committee Chairman (Immediate Past President). Eligibility is decided by the fellowship committee: Chairman, President, Vice President, and Secretary.
• Last date to apply: 31 July every year, using the specific fellowship application form.
• Fees: Rs. 10,000/-
• Intimation: Selected candidates will be intimated on or before 31 October every year.
• Application materials: Curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement outlining achievements, goals, and contributions to the field.
• Review and evaluation: The selection committee reviews applications against established criteria.
• Decision: The selected list is approved by the Executive Committee in its meeting.

The IHRS Fellowship will be presented in a special ceremony attended by IHRS members, distinguished guests, and representatives from the healthcare community.

• Convocation dress is provided by the society without additional charges.
• Fellowship awardees and dignitaries move in procession to the convocation hall and sit in seats specially earmarked for each.
• Fellowship is awarded at the convocation on the 1st day of the annual conference at 6:30 p.m., followed by convocation dinner.
• Dignitaries on the dais: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Chairman — Fellowship Committee (Past President). The President chairs the ceremony and delivers the presidential address.
